Our Heritage
Prior to founding Acuity Capital in 2008 our team formed the core of the smaller companies investment team of Electra Partners, one of the UK’s longest established private equity firms. It is this private equity heritage that has shaped the fundamentals of our approach to investing today.
Our goal is simple; to deliver strong investment performance for our stakeholders. We do this by developing intelligent investment strategies and actively managing our portfolios in pursuit of high absolute returns. Our success is based on 4 principals:
1. Living and breathing small companies
We focus on small companies and combine sector knowledge with entrepreneurial expertise to identify investment opportunities with the potential to deliver outstanding returns.
2. Partnership in pursuit of the business plan
We are straightforward, commercial, fair and work closely with management teams to form long term relationships. We look to provide teams with constructive support from a dedicated investment manager.
3. Putting investors first
By aligning our interests closely with our investors, we are incentivised to develop products and services which meet investor needs and to maximise returns in changing market conditions.
4. Highly disciplined approach to risk management
At Acuity, we adopt a rigorous approach to due diligence, developed as a result of our private equity heritage. For each investment we seek to minimise risk through a thorough analysis of the financial, commercial, legal and management issues.
The Acuity team lead all types of investment transactions including public market, public to private, MBOs, MBIs, expansion capital, and turnarounds, with a focus on buy-and-build strategies. |
