Acrobat's aim is to become the UK's leading re-issue specialist. It has used its initial tranche of investment to acquire the TKO catalogue of recordings, a British-based operation that has a library of over 22,000 original artist titles including Glen Campbell, Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington.
As well as reissuing their recordings, management will digitize all acquired recordings and intend to make them available for download via The Orchard, the world's largest digital music wholesaler who supplies downloads to many of the world's leading internet music portals including emusic, i-tunes, AOL, Napster, Yahoo & MSN.
Acrobat's senior management team brings together a wealth of record industry experience from companies such as Transatlantic, EMI and Sanctuary Records. Their expertise and industry contacts combined with Electra Quoted's investment will enable the company to expand quickly through further catalogue acquisitions to become a powerful force in the global music market. |
